    Your NAPO Membership


    Ellen Delap, the current NAPO National President, will spend an evening with our chapter.  She will discuss the current state of NAPO, the name change, and the future of Professional Organizing. Bring all your NAPO National questions to meeting and Ellen will address them.  Ellen, herself, is an organizer and her company is "Professional-Organizer".  She works one on one with clients to streamline time, space, and priorities.

    For new members: Welcome to NAPO-WDC!  We have two book clubs, one in Maryland and one in Virginia. They alternate months and read different books.  You are welcome to attend both or whichever one is more convenient for you.  The Virginia club meets at a home in McLean and the Maryland club meets at a home in Bethesda.

    The Book Clubs are a “chapter members-only” benefit, so we ask that you not bring guests who are not members of our chapter until they join.

    The Secret To Getting More 
    Projects And More Clients


    Getting more projects and signing more clients is a critical part of being a professional organizer. In this interactive session, we'll discuss how to define your ideal clients, how to choose which networking events are best for you, and how to know who will become your best sources of referrals. Then, we'll outline the practical, efficient processes you can follow to get more new clients and more work from current clients. You'll leave knowing exactly what you need to do to build your business in 2018. Bring your questions - there will be plenty of time for Q&A!

    Mary Ellen Hickman, MBA, is the head of Hickman Consulting Partners and a seasoned business and marketing strategy consultant with over twenty years of experience in the US and overseas. She began her career by starting a business to market new products in the former Soviet Union and then worked to expand and launch new brands in the highly competitive US consumer packaged goods market for Kraft, Warner-Lambert and Coors.     Working with Hoarders

    Hoarding, the persistent difficulty discarding or parting with possessions, is a real struggle for many people.  In this session, NAPO organizers will learn more details about the mental difficulties that effect hoarders - and how to work effectively with people who are hoarders or have hoarding tendencies.
