What is empathy, and how can it help you understand clients? Empathy is a natural part of the human experience. It is also a learnable skill. While some of us may start off being more empathetic than others, we can all practice empathy through active listening. When you use active listening with your clients, you become better able to help that client move forward - or it can be your tool to assess whether you need to disengage from a client.

This workshop will:

  • Define empathy and active listening.
  • Provide an opportunity to practice active listening.
  • Talk with peers about how to identify people who are not a good fit to work with you.
  • Give you simple tips about emotions and client communication you can use right away.
Please attend prepared to talk about a current or past client with whom it has been difficult to work.
