David F. Tolin, Ph.D.

Dr. Tolin is the founder and Director of the Anxiety Disorders Center at The Institute of Living. He is also Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Dr. Tolin’s research and clinical interests include cognitive-behavioral therapy for anxiety disorders in adults and children, and cognitive processes that underlie anxiety disorders, particularly obsessive-compulsive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, and panic disorder. He is the recipient of the award for Distinguished Contribution to the Science of Psychology from the Connecticut Psychological Association.
Dr. Tolin is the author of over 90 journal articles and book chapters, and over 140 research presentations to national and international organizations. He is the recipient of multiple research grants from the National Institute of Mental Health, including the studies “Neural Mechanisms of Compulsive Hoarding,” “Psychopathology of Compulsive Hoarding,” and “Treatment of Compulsive Hoarding”. Dr. Tolin has been a recurrent guest on The Today Show, Good Morning America, ABC News, and The Oprah Winfrey Show. Along with Drs. Randy Frost and Gail Steketee, he is the author of the new book Buried in Treasures: Help for Compulsive Acquiring, Saving, and Hoarding.

Kathleen Nadeau, Ph.D. a clinical psychologist who has devoted the past 25 years of her career to the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD. She has served on the professional advisory boards of both CHADD and ADDA, the two best-known ADHD advocacy organizations in the U.S., and is director of Chesapeake ADHD Center of Maryland.
Dr. Nadeau is an internationally recognized authority on ADHD, and the author of a dozen books on the topic. In addition to 20+ years of teaching and training experience, Jocelyn has been an invited speaker and presenter throughout the US and Canada.
With a BA and MA from the University of Delaware, Coverdale served 10 years in public education, and later worked as a university administrator, supporting the office of the president and governing board. In 1994 she launched her own company as an IBM-certified trainer and consultant in Lotus software. For clients such as PECO Energy, Campbell’s Soup, and DAP Adhesives, she designed information and workflow systems to streamline their business processes. In 2002, her practice expanded to include productivity training and office organizing consulting.
Jocelyn is a member of ARMA International, the Pennsylvania Distance Learning Association, and serves on the board of Wilmington Women in Business. She is past chair for course development for NAPO, and has completed coursework and exams for two certificates of study from the National Study Group on Chronic Disorganization. Additionally she has completed certification training with the MindJet Corporation as an instructor in MindManager Software, a productivity tool to bring creativity, innovation and organized thinking to workgroups and project teams. |
