What we do
The Washington, DC Metro Chapter of NAPO is recognized as the
central resource in the area for organizing
professionals. Our chapter
Educates members
in the techniques of organizing and in their adaptation to the
different learning styles of our clients,
Promotes the highest
standards of ethics and professional competence to help our members
provide services of exceptional quality,
Raises the awareness
of the public about the benefits of utilizing professional
organizers to enhance their quality of life.
Every member of our Washington, DC Metro Chapter
is required to hold membership in our national parent organization,
NAPO. On average, we have approximately 120 members in our Washington, DC
area chapter each year.
We are specialists in helping our clients to simplify, balance and

Our Code of Ethics
The National Association of Professional Organizers has a
Code of Ethics. Pledging to adhere to this code is a condition of
membership in the association and its chapter. In part, it reads,
As a member of
the National Association of Professional Organizers, I pledge to
exercise judgment, self-restraint, and conscience in my conduct in
order to establish and maintain public confidence in the integrity
of NAPO members and to preserve and encourage fair and equitable
practices among all who are engaged in the profession of
organizing.
Golden Circle
NAPO members who have five or more years in the organizing business are eligible for membership in Golden Circle, a prestigious designation for veteran organizers. Golden Circle members are designated by the Golden Circle logo in their profile.
Certified Professional Organizer (CPO®)
The CPO® Certification is a voluntary, industry-led effort that recognizes those professionals who have met specific minimum qualifications through both examination as well as client interaction. Members who have successfully completed the requirements can proudly display the designation of CPO®. A computer based CPO® exam will be offered in Columbia, MD, January 19-31, 2008. Register online at http://www.certifiedprofessionalorganizer.org. The paper and pencil CPO® exam will also be offered on April 9, 2008 in Reno, NV at the NAPO Conference.
